  • 502 Loma Prieta Road, Aptos – Proposal to construct an approximately 1300 square foot new single-family dwelling with a 550 square foot attached garage on a vacant parcel. Project includes grading of approximately 150 cubic yards of material in the Coastal Zone. Requires a Coastal Development Permit, Variances to reduce the required front yard setback from 20 feet to five feet to the home and reduce the required setback to the garage opening from 20 feet to eight feet, an over height wall permit for the construction of retaining walls in excess of three feet in height within the front yard, and determination that the project is exempt from further environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Project located on the south side of Loma Prieta Drive approximately 200 feet south of the intersection with Alta Drive (502 Loma Prieta Drive).
  • 540 Beach Drive, Aptos – Proposal to remodel and construct a 70 square foot addition to an existing three-story single-family dwelling. Requires a Coastal Development Permit, Variance to further reduce the required 20 foot front yard setback to zero feet, amendment to Vacation Rental Permit 201118 to operate a four-bedroom Vacation Rental, and determination that the project is exempt from further environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Property located on the east side of Beach Drive approximately 500 feet south of Rio Del Mar Beach (540 Beach Drive).
  • 265 Coward Rd, WatsonvillePublic hearing to consider an appeal of the administrative denial of application 231180, a proposal to extend the permit expiration date of Permit 191047 for one year.  Permit 191047, which was approved on May 5, 2020, with an expiration date of May 19, 2023, was to establish a Class CA co-location cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, and distribution facility with up to four cultivators, Type 3 Manufacturing, and Type 2 Distribution on a Commercial Agriculture zoned parcel.  Cultivation and processing (drying) was proposed within 311,900 square feet of four existing greenhouses, and 7,743 square feet of volatile manufacturing, 5,590 square feet of distribution, 4,069 square feet storage, and 879 square feet of office spaces was proposed within an existing 18,290 square foot packing shed. The property is located on the north side of Coward Road (265 Coward Road), approximately three quarters of a mile north of the intersection of Highway 129.

  • Santa Cruz Wharf Master Plan/Final Environmental Impact ReportHearing of the Revised Santa Cruz Wharf Master Plan (WMP) and Final EIR (EIR). The EIR includes the Draft EIR (March 2020), Final EIR (September 2020), Recirculated Partial Draft EIR (April 2023), and the Final EIR, Volume 2 (August 2023) Wharf Master Plan includes proposals for improvements to enhance the sustainability and resilience of the Wharf, increase public access and recreational opportunities, and improve the economic viability of the Wharf.
