County of Santa Cruz

The County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, April 9 at 9:00 am in a hybrid meeting at the Supervisors Chambers, County Governmental Center, 701 Ocean Street, 5th Floor in Santa Cruz. Click HERE for the agenda and instructions for public participation. Agenda items include:

Consent Agenda

  • 15. Adopt “Ordinance of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Cruz Repealing and Replacing Santa Cruz County Code Chapter 9.54 Relating to the Regulation of Motorized Bicycles, Motorized Scooters, and Electric Bicycles,” (approved in concept on March 26, 2024)
  • 27. Direct the Chair of the Board to send a letter to the County’s State legislative delegation in support of Assembly Bill 2103, which seeks to streamline acquisition of essential local lands for park restoration and enhancement (District 3 – Supervisor Cummings)
  • 28. Direct the Chair of the Board to send a letter to the County’s State legislative representatives urging their support for Assembly Bill 2493, which seeks to prohibit landlords from charging application screening fees to enter waiting lists when no rental unit is available within a reasonable period (District 3 – Supervisor Cummings)
  • 30. Direct the Chair of the Board to send a letter to the County’s State legislative representatives urging their support for Assembly Bill 3233, the Local Environmental Choice and Safety Act, relating to oil and gas operations and local authority (District 3 – Supervisor Cummings)
  • 41. Approve amendment to agreement with County Park Friends in the amount of $65,000, for a new not-to-exceed total of $162,998, for Capital Campaign Support and Development Services, and take related actions (Parks, Open Space and Cultural Services)
  • 43. Defer to June 25, 2024, a public hearing to consider the proposed Low-Impact Camping Area Ordinance (Community Development and Infrastructure)

Regular Agenda

  • 7. Hold public hearing to consider, accept and file the County’s Fiscal Year 2024-25 Proposed Budget and continue the budget public hearing to May 21, 2024 (County Administrative Office)
  • 8. Open a public sale of surplus County-owned property commonly known as 105 Esplanade Avenue, APN 042-151-31 pursuant to the terms and conditions stipulated in Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 163-2023 and Planning Commission Resolution No. 2023-04, and take related actions (Community Development and Infrastructure)
  • 10. Hold public hearing to consider proposed 2024-25 Benefit Assessment rates for County Service Area No. 46, Pinecrest, continue the public hearing to June 4, 2024, and take related actions (Community Development and Infrastructure)
  • 11. Hold public hearing to consider proposed 2024-25 Benefit Assessment rates for County Service Area No. 51, Hopkins Gulch, continue the public hearing to June 4, 2024, and take related actions (Community Development and Infrastructure)

The County Commission on Disabilities meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 11 is CANCELLED. NOTE: All Commission meetings are cancelled indefinitely due to a lack of sufficient members for a quorum.

Thursday, April 11 – Central Coast District

    • a. City of Capitola LCP Amendment No. LCP-3-CAP-22-0061-2 Part B (Monarch Cove Inn Site Redesignation).
