County of Santa Cruz

The County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, April 25 at 9:00 am in a hybrid meeting at the Board of Supervisors Chambers, County Governmental Center, 701 Ocean Street in Santa Cruz. Click HERE for the agenda and instructions for public participation. Agenda items include:

Consent Agenda

  • 22. Schedule a public hearing on June 27, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. or thereafter, to consider a petition to rescind the sale of tax defaulted property, Assessor’s Parcel Number 041-091-09; and take related actions, as recommended by the Clerk of the Board.
  • 26. Accept and file an update on the progress of the Digital Wallet Pilot Project; approve agreement with HUMBL Inc. for the development of a digital wallet; direct the County Administrative Office to return on or before September 12, 2023 with an update, and take related actions, as recommended by the County Administrative Officer and the Director of Information Services.
  • 31. Direct the Chair of the Board to write a letter to Assemblymember Luz Rivas expressing support for Assembly Bill 585, Achieving California’s Climate Goals, as recommended by Supervisor Koenig and Supervisor Cummings.
  • 32. Direct the Chair to send letters of support to Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, Assemblymember Alex Lee and Assemblymember Dawn Addis, respectively, as recommended by Supervisor Koenig, for:
    • California Assembly Bill 1035 proposes enacting the Mobilehome Affordability Act, to provide rent increase-related protections for constituents residing in jurisdictions that have yet to develop Mobilehome rent regulations, like those outlined in Santa Cruz County Code 13.32 – Rental Adjustment Procedures for Mobile Home Parks.
    • Assembly Bill 604 proposes that the limitations on charges/fees in connection with water utility service should apply to all management who elect to bill water utility service to homeowners separately.
    • Assembly Bill 318 proposes to extend the Mobilehome Residency Law Protection Program (MRLPP) to resolve Mobilehome Residency Law-related complaints, which is set to sunset on January 1, 2024, to January 1, 2027.

  • 10. Public hearing to consider proposed 2023-24 benefit assessment/service charge reports for various County Service Areas and adopt resolution confirming the benefit assessment/service charge reports, as outlined in the memorandum from the Deputy CAO/Director of Community Development and Infrastructure.

Consider reports on Collective of Results and Evidence-based (CORE) Investments, including five-year lookback, lessons learned and mid-year assessment; and direct the Human Services Department to return on or before December 12, 2023, with annual summary of CORE Investments funded programs, as outlined in the memorandum of the Director of Human Services.

  • 1235 Webster St., Santa Cruz – Proposal for a Lot Line Adjustment and a four lot Minor Land Division, including a two unit dwelling group on Lot 1, a variance to reduce lot width (by approximately 1.2 feet) for Lot 3, and access via a right of way less than 40 feet in width for Lots 3 & 4. Requires a Lot Line Adjustment, Minor Land Division, Residential Development Permit, Variance, a Soils Report Review and a determination that this project is exempt from further review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Property is located on the north side of Webster Street at the intersection with 15th Avenue in the Live Oak planning area. (1245 Webster St.)
  • 1311 Webster Street, Santa Cruz – Proposal for a Lot Line Adjustment and a two lot Minor Land Division, including a variance to reduce the rear yard setback to the existing attached garage on Lot 1. Requires a Lot Line Adjustment, Minor Land Division, Variance, a Soils Report Review, and a determination that this project is exempt from further review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
