County of Santa Cruz

Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Monday, October 12, all county offices will be closed.

City Manager’s Report

Consent Agenda

  • City Council Consideration of a Resolution in Support of the California Citizens for Local Control. The goal of this group is to band cities together to oppose State legislation that affects local control, specifically regarding land use and zoning issues.

Public Hearings

  • Amendments to Parking Regulations for Residential and Non-residential Property.
  • 2020 Regional Early Action Planning (REAP) State Planning Grant Application – Resolution directing staff to submit an application to the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments for the State of California Regional Early Action Planning Grant Program to contribute funding towards the project to expand the boundaries of the City’s Downtown Plan.
  • Subdivision and Zoning Ordinance Cleanup Amendments – to clarify and update various code sections, to remove obsolete sections and references, to streamline application processes, and to bring the Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances into conformity with State regulations.
  • 101 Felix Street – Consideration of Resolution Denying a Proposed General Plan Amendment/Local Coastal Plan Amendment to Change a Land Use Designation from LM (Low-Medium Density Residential 10.1-20 DU/Acre) to M (Medium Density Residential 20.1-30 DU/Acre) and Rezoning from RL (Multiple Residence – Low Density) to RM (Multiple Residence – Medium Density);  to Accommodate 80 New Apartment Units in an Existing 240-unit Apartment Complex (Cypress Point) (CEQA Does Not Apply to Projects that are Denied)

  • Amendment to Title 24 of the Santa Cruz Municipal Code (Zoning Ordinanceb by amending Part One of Chapter 24.16, “Inclusionary Housing Requirements” concerning inclusionary housing requirements including but not limited to consideration of Housing Authority of the County of Santa Cruz administered rental assistance vouchers as an inclusionary option for new construction residential development projects, which would include modifications to required area median income limits and rental rates, and modify inclusionary ordinance requirements.  (Environmental Determination: CEQA Exemption)
