County of Santa Cruz

The County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, September 15 at 9:00 am at the Board Chambers & Community Room, Governmental Center, 701 Ocean Street in Santa Cruz. Click HERE for the agenda and instructions for public participation. Agenda items include:

Consent Agenda

  • Adopt ordinance amending various sections of Santa Cruz County Code Chapter 13.10 (Local Coastal Program Implementing Ordinance) regarding Accessory Structures, Home Occupations, Temporary Uses and Structures, and Hosted Rentals (approved in concept September 1, 2020).
  • AS THE BOARD OF THE SANTA CRUZ COUNTY REDEVELOPMENT SUCCESSOR AGENCY, approve Termination of the Exclusive Negotiation Agreement with Green Valley Corporation, a California corporation dba Swenson Builder, for the 7th Avenue/Brommer Street Site, and take related actions as recommended by the County Administrative Officer.
  • Defer to October 6, 2020 approval of responses to findings and recommendations of five 2019-20 Santa Cruz County Civil Grand Jury reports.
  • Defer to on or before February 2021, a procurement process in support of shared-mobility or mobility-as-a-service [JUMP bikes] using the public right-of-way and associated ordinance amendments, as recommended by the Deputy CAO/Director of Public Works.

Regular Agenda

  • Consider resolution amending the General Plan/Local Coastal Program Public Safety Element and Conservation and Open Space Element and accepting CEQA Negative Declaration; consider approval in concept of four ordinances amending Santa Cruz County Code Chapters 16.10 Geologic Hazards, 16.13 Floodplain Regulations (new), 16.20 Grading Regulations, and 16.22 Erosion Control; to return for second reading and final adoption on October 6, 2020, and take related actions, as outlined in the memorandum of the Planning Director.
  • Public hearing to consider Application 181604, a proposal for permanent room housing at 10110 Soquel Drive in Aptos, requiring rezoning and a Commercial Development Permit; determine that the proposal is exempt from further environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act, and take related actions, as outlined in the memorandum of the Planning Director.
  • Consider strategies to support rebuilding after the CZU Lightning Complex Fire Disaster, direct staff to return October 6, 2020 with updated information, and take related actions, as outlined in the memorandum of the Planning Director.

City of Santa Cruz

The SC City Parks & Recreation Commission will meet Monday, September 14 at 4:00 pm by remote teleconference. Click HERE for the agenda and instructions for public participation. Agenda items include:

  • Wharf Master Plan – Presentation by the Economic Development department on the Santa Cruz wharf master plan and final Environmental Impact Report.
  • Parks Master Plan 2030 and Environmental Impact Report – That the Parks & Recreation Commission recommend City Council adopt the following resolutions: (1) a resolution certifying the Final Environmental Impact Report; (2) a resolution including Findings of Fact and a Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program; and (3) a resolution approving the Parks Master Plan 2030.
  • Frederick Street Park – Dog Park – Receive report on the status of Frederick Street Park’s adjoining dog park.

The SC City Sister Cities Committee meeting scheduled for Monday, September 14 is CANCELLED.

  • Working Draft of the Water Shortage Contingency Plan – Provide feedback to staff on the draft Water Shortage Contingency plan so that the draft can be finalized and brought back to the Commission for final review and action on October 5, or November 2, 2020.
